Dr. Harold J. Harlan, Entomologist

Harold Harlan earned his B.S., M.S., and Ph.D. degrees from The Ohio State University, and specializes in medical entomology and acarology. He served 25 years on active duty as a U.S. Army Medical Entomologist, retiring in 1994. He has been a Board Certified Entomologist (B.C.E.) in Medical and Veterinary Entomology since 1973; and in Urban and Industrial Entomology since 1999.
Harlan has published more than 30 articles in scientifically peer-reviewed journals. He was the National Pest Management Association staff entomologist for more than eight years, and currently serves as a senior science associate with Kadix Systems, working on information research and related technical document revision for the Defense Pest Management Information Analysis Center (DPMIAC, AFPMB) in Silver Spring, MD.
Bob Hickman, Market Development Specialist

As a Market Development Specialist for the professional pest control group of BASF-The Chemical Company, Bob Hickman oversees field-testing of the BASF line of professional pest products throughout the Southeastern United States and Puerto Rico. He also serves as a technical resource for BASF customers and sales staff with over 28 years of professional pest control-related experience.
Hickman joined BASF in 2003 after working with
Termidor® termiticide/insecticide since its introduction by Aventis Environmental Science in 2000. He spent 20 years with Aventis ES and its predecessor companies (AgrEvo, NOR-AM, BFC), in various functions including field development, technical support and sales within the pest control, turf and ornamental and vegetation management markets.
Hickman has also worked in the applicator end of the pest control industry, as a branch manager for a Florida pest control company and was a technical/regulatory representative for a Florida distributor/manufacturer. He attended the University of Florida, where he earned his degree in entomology.
