Home Invasion

Finding the origin of an ant infestation can be difficult. Commonly, ants invade from areas surrounding your home. They leave their outdoor colonies and enter unnoticed, through small structural cracks, crevices and hidden voids. Once inside, ants often use electrical and plumbing lines as “highways” to access any part of the building.

Some species come inside just to forage for food and water, and then go back outside. Some may choose to nest below structural foundations, and invade via floor cracks and expansion joints.

Other species, such as the Pharaoh ant, often establish interior colonies. They’ll come inside to escape inclement weather, for instance, and find a comfortable spot inside your home to raise their brood. These ants may build their nests in wall voids and other out-of-view structural zones.

To find the source of your problem and eliminate it, you first need to identify your specific pest. Different ant species require different control strategies. Certified pest professionals are trained to identify the many types of ants and can provide a specific treatment strategy.
